Writing a review after 5 months of reading a book is tough, but when the story was as gripping as this (ignoring the typical book start), you are very clear on what you have to write. With this book Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough, I am breaking my fast of more than 5 months of having not written a single word about any book. Not that I was not reading books behind the scenes, but when it came down to putting my thoughts into words, it just took so much effort of sitting down which I could have very well utilized either in sleeping or yes, reading another book 😀
Is there something wrong with Adele (one of the three protagonists of this book) that she behaves such? And if yes, how wrong? That is what keeps coming up all through the book and we keep wondering and wondering. Or something is seriously wrong with Louise or David? This psychothriller book finally progresses into … shh… just a hint… sci-fi… The ending is perfect. Only if the book had been more crisp with not much going round round and round, it would have deserved 10-on-10, but hey that is my thought. So what were your thoughts when you read this? Oh, you have not read yet? Then sure, go pick it up!

Louise is a single mom, a secretary, stuck in a modern-day rut. On a rare night out, she meets a man in a bar and sparks fly. Though he leaves after they kiss, she’s thrilled she finally connected with someone.
When Louise arrives at work on Monday, she meets her new boss, David. The man from the bar. The very married man from the bar…who says the kiss was a terrible mistake but who still can’t keep his eyes off Louise.
And then Louise bumps into Adele, who’s new to town and in need of a friend, but she also just happens to be married to David. David and Adele look like the picture-perfect husband and wife, but then why is David so controlling, and why is Adele so scared of him?
As Louise is drawn into David and Adele’s orbit, she uncovers more puzzling questions than answers. The only thing that is crystal clear is that something in this marriage is very, very wrong, but Louise can’t guess how wrong―and how far a person might go to protect their marriage’s secrets.
